NuStart Combined Operating License (COL) Applications

ENERCON for NuStart and TVA for a New Nuclear Plant at TVA’s Bellefonte Site.

ENERCON was selected to prepare two COL applications for NuStart Energy Development LLC, a consortium of eight nuclear power plant operators in the United States. ENERCON prepared a COL application for a Westinghouse AP1000 reactor plant to be sited at the Tennessee Valley Authority's Bellefonte Nuclear Power Plant Site in Northern Alabama and for a General Electric ESBWR reactor plant to be sited at Entergy's Grand Gulf Nuclear Station in central Mississippi. The Bellefonte application will serve as the reference plant COL application for the AP1000 Design Centered Working Group.

ENERCON was responsible for performing all work necessary to develop the COL applications. This included site characterization, site engineering, and preparation of the Final Safety Analysis Report, Environmental Report, Emergency Plan, Security Plan, and all other elements of the COL application including General and Administrative Information, a report on departures from the generic Design Control Document( DCD), and other elements of the applications as defined in the NRC's Regulatory Guide 1.206.
