Grand Gulf Auxiliary Cooling Tower

From original project scoping to finished design and implementation, the first of a kind $30 Million Auxiliary Cooling Tower (ACT) at Entergy's Grand Gulf Nuclear Station came to life through a winning relationship between ENERCON and Entergy. The project was completed on an expedited basis with multi-discipline design packages during a refueling outage.

ENERCON performed the original scoping study and subsequently finalized design details. Final design tasks included: hydraulic analysis of Circulating Water System with the ACT in service, draft revisions to Flooding Analysis and affected HVAC calculations, detailed drawings of piping configuration for ACT/Circulating Water system tie-ins, preparation of the modification packages, 10CFR50.59 unreviewed safety question evaluations, licensing changes, supporting calculations and analysis, and applicable document updates.
